TRUE'S HISTORIC 12-DAY STRIKE LEADS TO MASSIVE WINS!
After more than a year of bargaining, and 12 hard-fought days on the strike lines, TRUE won big for themselves, and their students. Key highlights include significant pay increases, fully funded healthcare, and strengthened language for speech language pathologists and pre-school educators, and support for IEPs, SSTs, and 504 meetings.
After more than a year of deadlocked negotiations with NUSD, Natomas educators held the line for seven days demanding a contract that prioritizes students andreinvests in educators. NTA won salary increases, a pathway to fully funded healthcare, and additional investments in classroom supports. This strike has fundamentally changed the culture of Natomas, proving that when we fight for our students and our profession, we win!
Earlier this month, West Sacramento Teachers Association won a strong contract which included raises and fully-covered medical, saving members up to $1700 a month.
WSTA organized, stood united, and won! But this victory did not happen in isolation. The neighboring strikes in both Twin Rivers and Natomas helped lay a foundation and pave the way for West Sac to have this momentous victory.
With a 92% YES VOTE, UESF members have ratified the 2025-2027 agreement. After 11 months of bargaining, and a momentous 4 day strike, UESF educators won a historic agreement that ensures 100% employer-paid family health care benefits, special education workloads, improved wages, and sanctuary and housing protections for SFUSD families. This historic contract is a cornerstone that will continue to help us fight for and together build the schools our students deserve across the state.
OEA members resoundingly voted Yes to authorize a strike- sending a clear message to the district: OEA will do whatever it takes to ensure the safe and stable schools our students deserve. On Feb. 27th, OEA reached a tentative agreement with OUSD that includes improvements to special education, wage increases to attract and retain educators, protections against subcontracting and AI, commitments to community schools and Black thriving schools, the preservation of fully-employer-paid health benefits and more!
BFT educators won big improvements in negotiations during their Fact Finding process at the end of February. Some of their wins include massive improvements to their healthcare, strong wage increases, protections against subcontracting, SPED program improvements, ECE support and other key staffing victories!
After almost a year of negotiations, SDEA educators fought hard to win expanded mental health supports for students, protections for immigrant and LGBTQ+ students, credentialing pathways to fill special education vacancies, improved educator pay, protections against layoffs, and more! This landmark agreement will benefit students, educators and the broader San Diego community for years to come.
Over 30,000+ UTLA members, families, and community allies took over Grand Park on March 18 to Fight for LA. UTLA and their labor partners demand that LAUSD shift their budget priorities and settle a fair contract; otherwise they are ready to strike April 14.
For decades, Little Lake Educators have had fully funded healthcare. Now, their district management has raised out-of-pocket costs from zero to $1,400 per month, creating a financial crisis for many educators and their families. LLEA is fighting for a fair contract that addresses the growing crisis.
